[THIN] Re: UPHClean

My VMWare team agrees with you, George.  They have given me clearance to remove both on a test server.  I'll have to see how it goes.

If anyone has any additional information that I could point the VMWare team to that supports removing the Memory Optimization component can you please send me a link?

Thanks,

Jim

Let us know what they say.  I understand why the shared folders should be not allowed – they broke something.  But I'm not sure why the memory optimization (ballon) drivers should not be used.  I haven't seen anything to explain why not just a caution not to use them.

Thank you, Joe and Eric.  I am checking with my VMware guys to see if that is the case.

Did you install the VM tools?  When you did, did you remove the "Shared Folders"?  If not, then do so…  Also remove the memory optimization (balloon driver) while you're at it.

I forgot to mention that it seems to be working fine on our other 40 Physical PS servers.

For some reason, the UPHClean program, although running as an active service, is not working on any of our Virtual Servers.  We are running Win2k3 SP2, PS 4.0.  UPHClean is version 1.6d.

Has anyone else seen an issue with this running on Virtual Servers?
