[THIN] General consensus on Flash?

do you install it on your xenapp farm or tell the users to sod off?

[THIN] Re: Windows 2008 & Metaframe XP

Here is my answer. Yes it is possible. You use 2008 with Hyper-V and virtualize your 2000/2003 Servers running Metaframe XP. (although I am still not too keen on the idea of virtualizing Citrix (I do it myself with several servers), and it isn't the ideal way of doing things you CAN do it)

Why not especially if all you want to do is publish a few applications?

Why are you guys so quick to put people down who don't want to upgrade to the new version of Citrix? Yeah it isn't supported anymore BUT if you know what you are doing, your network is secure and don't need the new add-ons or support what is the big deal?  Enlighten me please.

The answser for the client is:

Due to the tight integration of the Citrix environment and the underlying OS, it is only possible to run the Citrix version that is "designed" for a particular os.  Currently the only version designed to run on server 2008 is xenapp5.

I will second the notion to why?  Why use a brand spanking new version of Windows but a really old, outdate and non-supported version of Metaframe/PS/XenApp?

Hi All,

Hopefully someone will be able to help me out here –

I’m imaging a server running win2003 r2, ps 4.5 & office 2007 to another box.

The final part of my process is to run a dsmaint recreatelhc – but am now getting the error “ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed – Not a valid account name or password”

After pressing ok the imalhc.mdb file is deleted from %programfiles%\Citrix\Independent Management Architecture.

Thinking it may be a corrupt Access Workgroup Security File - I recreated this leaving at the defaults, but the issue persists.

The only way I can get things working is to manually copy imalhc.mdb from the original server and then start up the Citrix IMA Service.

After doing this, the service starts without error, I can verify the lhc and log in to published apps on my imaged server.

Is it safe to copy imalhc.mdb from another server?

Objet : [THIN] "ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed" Error running DSMAINT RECREATELHC

[THIN] Re: "ODBC Microsoft Access Driver Login Failed" Error running DSMAINT RECREATELHC

Hi Robert,

Do you mean it is populated every time the ima starts?

Cheers
