Richard Stallman is hardly someone I would bank on getting "objective"
advice from. Seems he is attacking everyone these days not just cloud
computing, Google, Microsoft, but even open source projects.
(example: see BSD rants about Stallman. BSD projects can't remove
GPL/GNU tools out of their base fast enough).
>"The concept of using web-based programs like Google's Gmail is "worse than stupidity", according to a leading advocate of free software."
Stallman would what, rather you host your own Linux/Sendmail mail
server and read mail with elm? Many people don't have the skills
necessary to do this or people like me who do have the capability but
have better things to do with their time. Gmail is a great product and
I use it knowing full well Google is mining data from my mail. If I
want privacy I encrypt it with GPG (which ironically is a GNU
product). Call me stupid but happy.
