eliminating another layer. The closer you are to the hardware, the better
performance.
An advantage yes - but superior? There are OS requirements in this model
that don't exist in a fully virtualized environment, which, by the way, are
coming darn close to paravirtualized environments in terms of performance.
I think this is a trade-off rather than a mark of superiority.
