[THIN] Re: Google announces Chrome Browser

Oh yes.  You know the Nazi’s thought they where “doing no evil”.... But we all know how that turned out....   :(

Oh, the Nazi’s brought, “Change” too....   I guess it is important to understand what people want to do vs. what they say they do and/or want to do...

I just really like Microsoft because they give us a standard.  The others are great to push Microsoft to lower prices, better products, and better customer service but in the end I would hate to loose them...  They are, after all, the easiest to work with, from my perspective..

NOPE!   There is a news article almost every week about this....

I have the keyword, “Google” in Google alerts so I get about 100 emails on google each day and it is amazing the stuff these guys pull under the veil of “do no evil”.    Just a few weeks ago Google thought a few people’s blogs where spam pages so they locked them out.  BUT, not just out of their google blogger account but their google docs, spreadsheet, calendar and everything else... It took a week before these people managed to get their stuff back... So much for “cloud computing”...

OK- let’s say someone accuses you of an illegal activity, Google shuts down your account. Can you get access to the data you own? Can you still use it?

from the Google terms of service:

"Google does not own Customer Content, or any End User or third-party content and/or information used as a part of the Service, including the content of communications appearing as part of the Service"

that is not true with google apps.   you still own the data.  it is a very fair and customer oriented license.

I think Google has good intentions, but a company that large with so much influence is going to do evil whether they intend to or not by nature of thinking that their solution is better and trying to make it widely available

I have been told that the Google apps licenses says that they own the data you create online, does anyone know if that is true?

Upside is the world definitely needs a better browser interface

Downside is Google is becoming dangerously like an evil empire, wanting all of our apps and data and communications in their framework……
