[THIN] Re: Streaming Apps and Environmental Variables ignored?

Update…  I was able to include a wrapper script to set the path inside my streaming profile, create a shortcut to the script and change the published app to point at the script shortcut…  All is now working as expected.

I’m guessing by the lack of response there aren’t may people using streaming apps…  Is there a reason why?

Subject: [THIN] Streaming Apps and Environmental Variables ignored?

I have an app that I’m trying to stream to server (same behavior with 1.1 & 1.2 profiler and client).  I need to append the path and am not having any luck.  I’ve tried setting it in the system applet within the profiler, use pre-execution scripts, manually setting it in HKLM\Software\Citrix\AIE\SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment, all w/o luck.  I found CTX106601 but that doesn’t work either.

In my pre-execution I can echo out the path, launch the system applet and it appears the path is set correctly but it doesn’t appear to be used.  I can set RadeRunSwitches to –x to launch the cmd but from there the path isn’t set?  Within the cmd I can set the path and the app works but only for that session.

If I physically set the path on the system it works but isn’t the desired solution as I have to append the path on every server.

I’m thinking a band-aid is to include a .cmd file in my streaming profile and use it as a wrapper script to set the path and launch the app but I still need to test this.

Has anyone seen this?

Brandon Mitchell
