Go with the new RM, which is called Resource Manager, Powered by EdgeSight. It is supported on 4.5 for 2003. If you have XA Enterprise licenses, EdgeSight runs in a reduced functionality mode similar to the old RM. With Platinum XA licenses, all functionality is enabled.

well, crud. from what I'm reading in http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX114501 it appears that sql 2008 *is* supported for the datastore but is *not* supported for RM. Testing it with our dev farm seems to confirm this. Since XA45FR1 and XA5 are the same for w2k3 I don't suppose I have much recourse except to go with XA5 on w2k8 which ain't gonna happen anytime soon.
