[THIN] Re: ICA client failure

I have seen instances of things like that in the past where the temporary Internet files "filled up". Cleaning the temporary Internet files cleared the issue.

I have also seen similar symptom when the secure ICA file could not be written due to Internet Explorer settings. The "Do not save encrypted files to this computer" setting should not be set. However, if I recall correctly, there was an error message returned for this case. Check all of the settings in IE and maybe try Firefox to see if the results are the same.

Another thought that I use for cases like this is to use Process Monitor (get it from Microsoft - formerly SysInternals) and watch what is going as the failure occurs. This can often lead to interesting discoveries of problems that you wouldn't expect to be causing the issue.

Hope this helps,

Dennis

Subject: [THIN] ICA client failure

I have one user currently that cannot connect to our servers.
He is running Vista, and has local admin rights on his machine.
When he launches the ICA file (either directly from WI, or saved to his desktop) the hourglass pops up for a second or two, but no connection dialog boxes appear.
I remotely attached to his PC and tried to launch this myself with the Task Manager open.   As soon as I launched the ICA file, the wfica.exe appeared in Task manager, and then vanished again within a second or two.
I have Uninstalled and re-installed the Web-only client more than once. I have not yet tried installing the full PN but might try that next.  Any ideas on what is killing the ICA?   I am fairly certain its something within his PC/.
