Subject: [THIN] Printing - Citrix Universal VS HP Universal
Hi
I am looking at completely redesigning our Printing structure within our
Presentation Server 4 farm. We have installed around 30 HP Print Drivers on
each Citrix Server which is very unreliable. Can anyone assist with the
following:
1) I have lots of Printer Drivers in the CMC which we used as a template to
replicate to all servers. Whats the best way to remove all Printer drivers
out of the CMC?
2) We have our Citrix server and MS Print Server in the same office. All
users are in branches around the country. I want to use Direct Mode with MS
Printer Drivers to minimise WAN traversal. Our MS Print Server however uses
HP Drivers. When a user launches an application, Citrix will use a Native
Driver if it exists then fails back to Universal Driver. Does the driver
download from the MS Print Server if its not located on the Citrix Server?
I don't want HP drivers to be installed on the Citrix Servers. Is this
possible?
3) Can I use MS Printer Driver mapping even if HP Drivers are installed on
Citrix Server?
3) If I have issues with MS Drivers and Printer Mapping, I was looking at
installing the HP Universal Driver. Has anyone had any issues with it? We
use standard printers such as LaserJet 4000, 4200, 4300, 4350 etc but do
need double sided Printing capability
I hate Printing in Citrix. Hoping someone can help as our existing setup is
not reliable - Spooler crashes and slow Printing issues when the Citrix
universal driver is used...
Thanks
Angela
