[THIN] Re: visio 2007 on w2k3 term srvr - windows installer always runs

I've found with the Office applications you have to install it in change user /install mode and then start and run the application once also in install mode (except outlook of course) so all registry values get written before putting the machine back in execute mode.  Same with programs like adobe etc. so that you can accept the license agreement first.

It was installed in install mode, but no, not being launched in installed mode (verified with a chgusr /query)

If I launch it as admin it runs much longer and the event log entry is event id 11728, configuration completed successfully. Exit the app, relaunch, it does it again for admin as well.

Does the application event log have any MSI events? Does one of them indicate a missing file or missing registry key?

sort of an annoying issue - every time a user launches visio 2007 the windows installer pops up for a few seconds before visio opens. close and relaunch, does it again. I found one article for an older version that mentioned missing language values in the registry, but they're there.

any clues?
