We do in fact utilize CSG for access to our Citrix farms. We just choose not to use CSG as the proxy for the web interface. While certainly not as common of design, I believe this configuration is not entirely uncommon either. It facilitates the integration of the WI into a common corporate portal.
We've been using an older version of the Citrix WI running in an IBM WebSphere environment for the last few years. That continues to work fine through a reverse proxy. We are now in the process of migrating the WI to IIS and running into some snags getting it to work in an identical fashion.
