VMware is part of the SVVP program so it would be included - http://blogs.vmware.com/console/2008/08/vmware-svvp.html.   It’s still disappointing to have the “you may have to reproduce this on physical hardware” clause, but it is an improvement over the prior version of the policy in which VMware was not supported.

It also seems to say that under certain support contracts, and with third parties that have agreements with Microsoft, that it would be covered.

 

So, the big question is whether or not VMWare is one of these, I assume not!! Note that this specifically names hardware virtualiation. In the past Parallels Virtuozzo (software virtualization) had this arrangement and software running on their virtualization platform was supported

Problem with MS software on VMWare... guess you have to put it on Hyper V for support.
