[THIN] Re: Strange occurrence

A few things…  One, you can get rid of the WSID if you like.  It hasn’t been used since the early days of MFXP.

Second, the UID listed in the file is Citrix but the Error reported show the user id as dbuser.  The you specified in the dsmaint config should also be the UID.

It is using an SQL account.  The mf20.dsn is below with WSID & SERVER changed.

[ODBC]
DRIVER=SQL Server
UID=Citrix
LANGUAGE=us_english
DATABASE=CITRIX_Datastore
WSID=Citrix-Server
APP=Microsoft Data Access Components
SERVER=SQL-Server
Description=Citrix Datastore

Thanks

What does your mf20.dns look like?  Are you using an AD account or SQL account?  Is the dbuser account being reset somehow?

For some as yet explained reason, servers in my Citrix farm appear to lose DSN information connecting to the datastore.  When this happens, I see the below error.

The Citrix Presentation Server failed to connect to the Data Store. ODBC error while connecting to the database: 28000 -> [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Login failed for user 'dbuser'.

The database is not 28000, it is actually called Citrix.  I found an instance online of another person experiencing the same issue, but no resolution.  To resolve I need to run dsmaint config and point it back to the correct dsn and restart the IMA service.

Any ideas ?

Regards
