Put a clean copy of it in a directory someplace on the server say Backup folder.
Create a robocopy script that copies the file back in to place. You can then schedule it to go off during off hours or at system reboot.
For example

I decided to install Office 2007 compatibility pack on Office 2003 SP2 running on Windows 2003 SP1 with Presentation Sever 4.0. After the compatibility pack was installed we found that word would crash anytime it was launched although other applications seemed fine.
