Jim, this didnt fix it. We worked it out though, we had to disable the beep in device manager/hidden devices, but only on the dell inspiron 9400's. All other machines never got the beep

Go to the server do a change user /instal from a cmd promptl and go to the sounds control panel applet and make sure the sound scheme is set to none. Then do a change user /execute from the command prompt. That has always fixed it for me.
