[THIN] Re: Recommended AV for Citrix?

I once cleaned a virus off my dad's computer and warned him about the dangers of opening strange attachments.

I immediately get hit again with notices of the same virus from his computer.  His answer "I wanted to see what it would look like".

It looked a lot like me buying him a Mac for Christmas.

I know Macs aren't a magic pill against ever getting a virus but it has made supporting my dad (and everyone else in the family) a lot easier.

No, because the very nature of a virus/Trojans/worms is to circumvent these control.  Many start out using unknown exploits in the system.  Second, is human nature.  Some users will open anything.

as crazy as it sounds, it is possible to setup things in such a way as to run no AV.  You have to have a very tight perimeter, good policies, access control etc.

Hi Everyone,

I'm reviewing our AV solution – we currently use F-Secure on our Citrix Servers and whilst it does the job, we're finding it increasingly sluggish.

I've been told through the grapevine that the core F-Secure engine hasn't been updated for a while and it might be better to look for an alternative.

What do you use?

I use Vipre from Sunbelt Software.  Very fast, very small footprint, excellent support and a great price.
