[THIN] Re: CAG Authentication problem when username contains a period.

It is definitely Standard and is something that has happened since 4.5 as 4.2 works fine

It must be standard because when you use AAC/Advanced the authentication is
moved from the CAG to the AAC server and it works there for you...

Is this on the Standard or Advanced version?

We're using Advanced+AAC 4.5.8 with usernames that contain dots and
everything seems to work as expected, including the passthrough to the
web interface and integrated authentication to internal web sites.

Michael.

Subject: [THIN] CAG Authentication problem when username contains a
period.

When the CAG is upgraded to the latest version 4.5.6, actually any
version of 4.5, then there is an issue when the username contains a
period. The issue is that CAG passes the username through to the domain
controller modified. The modification that it makes is that is adds the
domain in place of the period. E.g. user name = test.user is passed
through as testDOMAINuser. The result of this is that pass through to
web interface does not work. The user has to enter their user, domain
and password at the web interface.

Workaround: Keep the CAG on 4.2.

Shane Bracegirdle
