Actually, the first collision is planned for October 21st. Today was a round-trip test. It lasted about an hour and was a success. So we have a little over one month before the potential end of the world : )

No it doesn't stand for Local Host Cache.  The Large Hadron Collider is  due to be turned on today.  If we all get sucked into a blackhole  or wormhole it was nice knowing you all! : )
