[THIN] Re: Citrix App Streaming

Thanks for the reply Daniel,

but still get the error attached.

We used the default client initially (off the install media), we will go ahead with streaming to internal desktops and use published apps for others.
We will also continue researching this issue.

Many Thanks

Rob

Sorry to jump on the thread but I can't see one I e-mailed in late last week. See below and thanks for any replies.

Hello All,

We are successful

ly streaming Office etal to WinXP workstations (from a 2008 64bit Farm), we are now trying to stream to the Xenapp servers.
We have created a 2008 64bit Office profile but encounter errors if streaming to the xenapp servers or to a standalone win2008 (64bit) server.
we get 1 of 2 error messages appearing viz:

1) The citrix streaming service is not responding. Restart your computer and try again. (0xE000069)
2) Citrix Xenapp plugin for streamed apps error (0x6BE)

What we have done so far to resolve the issue:

1) Installed the latest hotfixes on the Xenapp server - XA500W2k864004
2) Installed the latest clients on the Xenapp server - Xenapphosted and XenappStreaming
3) Create a new package - Foxit reader
4) Build a new packaging machine and use CitrixStreamingProfiler 1.3.1

The streaming service runs fine, it has even been run with the Domainadmin as the account (Farm is being prepared for a 4 government dept migration) in case of profile access issues.
We do get this in the eventlog
Faulting application RadeSvc.exe, version 5.1.0.1061, time stamp 0x498b069b, faulting module MSVCR80.dll, version 8.0.50727.3053, time stamp 0x4889d619, exception code 0xc000000d, fault offset 0x00014ba1, process id 0xa58, application start time 0x01c9d520a3817c52.

Any ideas as to the cause of the problem would be appreciated.

Regards

Rob

[THIN] Re: how to prepopulate IE with site certs?

You can push out with a PSEXEC script and use a little know Microsoft tool called certmgr.exe. Let me know if you need a copy of it.

certmgr.exe -add -c my-root-cert.cer -s -r localMachine root

Cheers,

Jeremy.

I have copied the same settings from my current web interface set up including the STA server http://servername/au/scripts/ctxsta.dll

Im pretty stuck now but I cannot even browse the PNAgent directory in IIS using explorer as I get 'You are not authorised to view this page'.
However I have added 'everyone' group to directory and Im logged on as an admin account....Im sure Im just missing a simple step so any more advise would be great??

Hi Alan

I've set this up on many sites now and we are using it in house and I've not hit a problem yet.
Make sure your iphones are version 2.2.1. The other thing is to watch this video:

http://community.citrix.com/display/xa/Administrator+Tips+and+Tricks

If you have done all this and still can get access, is the access failing after you login to the
iphone Citrix reciever or after you lauch an app from the reciever once you have logged in?

[THIN] Re: how to prepopulate IE with site certs?

They publish an install executable (both in EXE and MSI format) called "InstallRoot". It installs all of the DoD and ECA vendor trusted roots. You should just be able to distribute this as you do any other install. Additionally, it does not require admin rights (i'm pretty sure) so you could potentially check for it and install if the user doesn't have the certs installed. And last, the file is updated fairly regularly as new CA's are stood up, so you'll need to take that into account as well.

[THIN] Re: IE7 and favorites

I see the folder in Favorites under my profile. You can write a login script to delete it.

rd /s /q "%userprofile%\Favorites\Microsoft Websites"

Maybe one of the ActiveSetup programs is creating the folder. Look under HKLM\Software\Microsoft\ActiveSetup\InstalledComponents. Search for StubPath. These programs run the first time a user logs in. I see a couple of them for IE.

Start off by filtering for the process name you want to see. After
that start filtering your results.

Take a look for a Result of error or access denied.

Do you get any hits with process monitor about something it might be
looking for by any chance?

Yes you HAVE to upgrade the license server.  You have to read 3/4 of the way through the Rollup release notes to learn this, I was kind of peeved that this wasn't at the TOP of them in bold!

[THIN] Re: Citrix App Streaming

Regards

Rob
